October Case Of The Month
Prep with Your Scaler – October 2008
No Burs, No Anesthetic EmpreThin™ Case

Dr. Rich Creasman saw opportunity, where other clinicians may have opted for a different treatment plan. Without the need to compromise aesthetics, strength or longevity, Dr. Creasman took a unique approach to prep design.

Unlike other “no prep” systems that have been on the market for more than 25 years, EmpreThins™ offers the lifelike vitality that mimics nature, not plastic! This conservative and unique approach allowed Gold Dust to partner with Dr. Creasman for an amazing, efficient and less costly result that is no less than stunning!

Clinician:
Dr. Rich Creasman
Atlanta, GA
  • Pre-Op
  • Patient presented with visible existing failing resin bonding, discolored by time and worn past its lifetime. Teeth were misshapen.
  • Mock Up
  • Dr. Creasman did a mock up to communicate to Gold Dust ideal shape and length. In addition, patient had wear and anterior guidance was a goal to re-establish protection. Impressions were taken of the mock up and forwarded with the final case.
  • Removed Bonding
  • The failing bonding was removed with a simple sickle scaler. A 3M Soflex disc was used only to remove some slight residue from #8. Patient was required no anesthetic. Slight reshaping of the gingival tissue was done to ensure symmetry of the gingival tissue. Final impressions were taken and the case was sent without the need for a separate diagnostic visit thus eliminating the wax up and need to fire up diamond!
  • Post-Op
  • Completed EmpreThin™ case bonded into place.
