Anterior Cosmetics: Posterior Durability e.Max is an all-ceramic alternative to Empress offering the feature of additional strength where required. e.Max enables the ceramist to manufacture 3-unit bridges anterior to the bicuspid, single unit crowns and veneers with a wide array of ingots and opacities.
It's added strength comes from the lithium disilicate material. With its variety of ingots and functionality, e.Max is the ideal choice for complex smile design, implant abutments and posterior single unit restorations. e.Max restorations can either be bonded or cemented. The ability to custom fabricate e.max abutments and color correction copings allow the greatest flexibility in design coupled with a significantly stronger restoration.
The number one brand of Zirconia in the world, Lava is highly aesthetic substructure and a great restoration for posterior bridges. Utilized for blocking out preps, while unmatched in strength, Lava can also be utilized for custom implant abutments. Avoid the problematic challenges with off brand or generic zirconia by choosing Lava, dentistry’s trusted name in zirconia.
The everyday workhorse; where zirconia is required but the strength of Lava not necessary, such as with a single crown. Ideal applications include dark prep or metal abutment requiring block out and masking ability. Essential Zirconia, produced by 3M, is slightly less translucent than Lava.
When a preparation has multiple colors or a darkness that requires masking, a feldspathic material allows our aesthetic team at our smile design lab predictable control underlying tooth color. The refractory process is a choice in cases where very little room is available, however marginal integrity can be compromised as the refractory process is not as accurate as a pressed process, such as Empress Esthetic.
Authentic remains Gold Dust’s choice for light tetracycline and slightly grey preparations. Made from lucite glass reinforced ceramic, Authentic is a proven material with clinical success since 1988 used neutralize the problematic issue of a challenging color of preparations shade.

The concept of traditional tray and putty impressions being replaced by high tech photos or video digital impressions for lab fabrication has been an exciting innovation in dentistry for Gold Dust Dental Laboratory. Being involved in clinical and fabrication beta testing for a variety of manufacturers, we are acutely aware that any product or equipment must meet or exceed our current quality standards prior to integrating into our systems.
We are excited to announce that the technology of the following device and products provided to the lab for fabrication meet our stringent quality requirements for reproduction of information, occlusal relationships, articulation and the fabrication platform for a variety of materials:
Similar to a video scanner, but is an intraoral camera device that takes individual shots to develop the 3D image from which superior polyurethane models are fabricated. The fabrication process achieved is significantly more accurate and predictable.
As an authorized laboratory for CEREC Connect, Gold Dust has the ability to accept digital impression files reducing our clients time and labor costs. Unlike physical impressions, digital impressions are immune to dimensional changes. As with all digital systems, this results in superior precision and unmatched consistency. Select Gold Dust Dental Lab as your Favorite Lab on CEREC Connect to pair the precision of digital impressions with the quality of Gold Dust restorations.

In the planning of your case, from idealizing preparation design, to communicating contours, length, anatomy and shape to your patient, the Diagnostic Wax Up creates unparalleled predictability in your communication with your patient and Gold Dust.
Occlusion and phonetics can also be evaluated, and when these, along with esthetics, are deemed satisfactory, an impression can be made to communicate the proper size, shape, length, and form to the lab prior to prescribing final ceramics.
See the Diagnostic Wax Kit Technique Guide for more information (insert link here).
Also available is our Natural Diagnostic Wax Up (attached photo) The Natural wax up is used for those patients who have a difficult time envisioning morphology, incisal translucencey, surface texture and mammalon formation may look on their particular case. This is an additional tool that can also be successfully used in patient case presentation.
